The University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) and the YGK Healthcare Champions, a UHKF volunteer group, invites the community to take a virtual Mental Health Break on April 16, 2021. We all need one!

The webinar, Mental Health Break: Resiliency During an Ongoing Pandemic, on April 16, will explore key factors for understanding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nicholas Axas, Program Operational Director, Mental Health & Addiction Care at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, will speak at the event.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our mental wellness and health,” says Axas. “From overloading our healthcare system to our interactions with people to the effects it has on families, the pandemic has impacted our community in many ways. This event will help you better understand these challenges, find ways to improve your mental wellness and learn some concrete tools you can do to build resilience.”

The webinar is free and open to the public. UHKF and the YGK Healthcare Champions suggests community members register early, as registration is limited to 100 connections. An email address will be required.

“The pandemic has created uncertainty and struggles for all of us,” says Emma Fitzgerald, a member of the YGK Healthcare Champions. “This event allows us to get together and hear from an expert in mental health. Our hope is that this event will make everyone realize that they are not alone; bring awareness to the support available in our community, and inspire attendees to get involved with our local health care. We are truly blessed to have such a great healthcare system in our community.”
