The story of Blake Halladay

Kingston Community Credit Union made a $250,000 donation to purchase a fully-equipped ICU room and the latest surgical sterilization equipment at KGH. CEO Blake Halladay says their gift made a difference to their 12,000 members and the community.

“As the Chief Executive Officer of Kingston Community Credit Union I represent over 12,000 members of our local community. I was a patient at Kingston General Hospital and I was touched by the quality of care and the compassion with which it was delivered. I realized that the hospital is something we all need at some point in our lives. It was the most universal, the most representative donation I could suggest making on behalf of our members. With the blessing of our Board of Directors and on our 50th anniversary, KCCU decided to make the largest single donation our Credit Union had ever made. To this day, individual members continue to let me know that they supported our donation and that they feel pride being a part of such a caring organization. They shared in the giving and made it all possible. It was among the proudest moments I have ever experienced over my career in banking and it is a milestone in our Credit Union’s history. It has helped shaped us and define who we are. It is and always was about caring for each other in this life.”
