“Through strength, courage, faith & hope we can achieve anything. In March of 2008, my son, Edward, decided to combine his passion for the game of golf with his desire to help cancer patients and their families. What he came up with was Strokes Fore Hopes. I told him if he wanted to complete the journey, then I would promote it since this is something that we both believe strongly in. He and his friend, Andrew Fazackerley, walked and golfed for 24 hours straight at Rivendell G.C. on June 19 & 20, 2008. We involved cancer survivors and friends that were currently battling cancer. It was nothing short of spectacular. Strokes Fore Hopes raised $17,000 for the Cancer Centre. Because last year's event was such a success, Edward & Andrew have decided to complete the 24 hour journey again for cancer patients and their families. Since strength, courage, faith and hope are all things that these special people need every day to survive, we have decided to do whatever we can to make sure that they can have these tools to put one foot ahead of the other while dealing with the unthinkable.”
