Helen is a resident of Belleville who sees Hotel Dieu Hospital in a way others don’t.
“I see things that sometimes others don’t. One of them is the important role that Hotel Dieu Hospital plays in this community. I live in Belleville, and I suffer from wet macular degeneration, which if left unchecked could rob me of my vision. I have been getting treatment at the Ophthalmology Department at Hotel Dieu Hospital. From the moment I walk into the lobby I get a feeling of compassion and care from the volunteers at the information desk to the doctors and nurses I see at my appointments. I can’t say enough about how grateful I am for the care they have given me. I know that without the specialized outpatient clinics at Hotel Dieu I’d be driving to Toronto or Ottawa for treatment. I’m thankful that such an outstanding hospital is so close to home. That’s why I am a donor. That’s why you should give, too.“
