The Providence Care Employee Campaign was a focus throughout the month of May for the 1,700 staff members at Mental Health Services, Providence Manor, St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital and the over 18 Providence Care community locations across the region.

Employee Campaign co-chairs, Chandra Davies and Tanya McDonald led a dedicated team of volunteer canvassers, who had peer to peer discussions about the significance of supporting the Together We Can campaign.

“Our staff understands that the success of this campaign will directly benefit them and their families,” said Chandra Davies.  “Success of the Together We Can campaign will result in a much needed modern work environment with the construction of a new hospital for Providence Care.”

“But staff also know that we all use Kingston hospitals and supporting the campaign is helping to shape the health care resources in the community” added Tanya McDonald.

Together, Providence Care employees raised $125,000 through pledges and donations.

At a celebration to announce the results of the month-long blitz, Providence Care President and CEO, Dale Kenney, thanked the Employee Campaign Team and congratulated everyone at Providence Care on their outstanding achievement. "We're sending a message to the community that the people who work at Providence Care really care about the redevelopment of Kingston’s hospitals.”

Together We Can chair Ian Wilson also expressed his thanks to Providence Care staff, saying, “Your successful campaign is a perfect example of how much can be accomplished when it’s a team effort.  Thank you for all that you do everyday, and for this wonderful contribution today.”

The celebration capped off with punch and a large decorated cake that said it all, “Together We Did!”
