October 8, 2009/- This year’s Smile Cookie campaign at 17 Kingston-area Tim Hortons has set a new record. Smile Cookie Week, September 21-27, raised $34,586.94 for the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation in support of the redevelopment of Kingston General Hospital – nearly 75 per cent more than the year before.
The money was raised through sales of special, smiling chocolate chunk cookies for $1.00 plus tax. Cash donations were also accepted. In 2008, the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign in Kingston raised just over $20,000 for redevelopment of KGH.

September 21, 2009/- University Hospitals Kingston Foundation and Shoppers Drug Mart® are partnering in an effort to raise funds to help improve the quality of life for women and their families in Kingston through the Tree of Life campaign. Now in its eighth year, the three-week fundraising campaign, running from September 26th through October 16th at over 1,150 Shoppers Drug Mart stores, will harvest much needed funds to support the Women’s Health Program and services.
September 21, 2009/- Tim Hortons’ customers will once again be “smiling” for patients at Kingston General Hospital during Smile Cookie Week, September 21-27. Tim Hortons Smile Cookies will be on sale next week for $1.00 plus tax at 17 stores across Kingston and area. For the second year in a row, all the proceeds from the sale of the special, smiling chocolate chunk cookies will go towards the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation to support redevelopment constructions projects at KGH.
September 4, 2009/- Together We Can, the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation’s 70-million fundraising campaign for Hotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston General Hospital and Providence Care, has hit a new milestone. This morning, at the 4th Annual Kingston Cares Radiothon, the Foundation announced the campaign had reached the $60-million mark.
“Thanks to the thousands of people, organizations and businesses who have contributed to the campaign, we’ve reached a new milestone in making our hospitals the best they can be,” said Ian Wilson, Chair of the campaign.
