Medigas makes $5,000 donation to new Pediatric ICU at KGH

January 20, 2009/- Medigas, the home healthcare division of Praxair Canada Inc., is making a $5,000 donation to the development of the pediatric intensive care unit being planned as part of the redevelopment of the Inpatient Pediatric Unit at Kingston General Hospital.

The gift, made to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation, will be included in the $70 million Together We Can fundraising campaign. The campaign has so far raised $57 million.

“We welcome this generous gift from Medigas. With their help, we will be able to have a specialized pediatric intensive care unit to help the children and youth from across Southeastern Ontario,” said Ian Wilson, Chair of the Together We Can campaign.

“Medigas is an integral part of community health care in Kingston and the surrounding area. We believe that supporting the growth of the Hospital’s in-patient services will benefit everyone,” said Annette Stuart, Respiratory Therapist for Medigas. “Making this donation to the development of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit will support many families within our local communities.”
