The City of Kingston has started construction work on downtown parking garages. The Chown parking garage across the street from Hotel Dieu Hospital will remain open, but the number of parking spaces has been temporarily reduced while repairs are made.
Patients and families are encouraged to allow extra time to get to appointments because of construction and reduced parking spaces in the downtown core. For patients with mobility issues, the hospital does have a drop-off ramp at the main entrance off Brock Street. There is no parking on the ramp and drivers must remain with their vehicle. However, patients are able to get out and make their way to their appointment.
Nearby parking lots (both municipal and other pay parking lots) include the following:
On Queen St. between Sydenham St. and Montreal St. (across from CKWS TV station)
On Queen St. between Montreal St. and Bagot St. (enter across from stone church)
On Wellington St. between Princess and Queen (enter across from The Iron Duke Pub)
On Brock St. between Wellington and Bagot St.
There is also metered parking on the streets around the hospital.
Please note that there is no patient parking in the unpaved surface parking lot opposite the Hospital. Parking in that lot is by authorized permit only. Cars parked without a permit in that lot will be ticketed or towed.
