October 15,2010/-KINGSTON, ON Hotel Dieu Hospital today officially launched the construction phase of a redevelopment project that will help to cement the hospital’s status in this province as a leader in transforming ambulatory health care.

The multi-million dollar construction project, scheduled to be completed by mid 2012, calls for the overhaul of 36,000 square feet of hospital space to create new clinical suites for specialized outpatient visits, procedure rooms for urological testing and treatment, laboratory space for pulmonary function testing, an elevator tower, and renovations to the main lobby and physical plant department of the hospital.

When the project is completed, most remaining specialized outpatient clinics at Kingston General Hospital will transfer to Hotel Dieu, boosting its volumes by up to 50,000 additional patient visits per year.
